New batch of DNA samples for whole genome sequencingOur researchers and research analists are preparing a new batch of DNA samples for whole genome sequencing.

The DNA samples will be securely sent to Illumina in San Diego, USA, a leading company in genomics. Earlier, DNA samples from the Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Ireland and the United States were sent to Illumina for whole genome sequencing. Most of these DNA samples have now been sequenced and will shortly become available to the ALS centres for analyses through the SURFsara super computer in the Netherlands.

The new batch concerns DNA samples from ALS patients and healthy controls from Spain, Turkey and The Netherlands.
