    Professor Philippe Corcia is an expert in motor neuron diseases (MNDs). He is Neurologist in the University Hospital of Tours since 1995 and member of the ARSLA Scientific Board and of the Team 2 “Génétique et Métabolomique” of the Inserm Unit UMR U930,”Imagerie et Cerveau” Tours.

    Since 2012 he is investigator in STRENGTH (Survival, Trigger and Risk, Epigenetic, eNvironmental and Genetic Targets for motor neuron Health),  NUTRALS (Impact d’une supplémentation alimentaire précoce par voie orale sur l’état fonctionnel des patients atteints de sclérose latérale amyotrophique) and PULSE (PHRC: Etude des facteurs prédictifs de l’évolutivité de la sclérose latérale amyotrophique. Caractéristiques pronostiques et endophénotypiques. Mise en place d’une banque nationale de données). He is coordinator of the MARIA project (Microglial Activation Role In ALS) and the project “Evaluation of the glutamate-induced alterations of the metabolism in an in vitro model of ALS using metabolomics and transcriptomics approaches” a project is financially supported by the ARSLA association.

    Professor in neurology at the University of Limoges

    Professor Philippe Couratier is an expert in motor neuron diseases (MNDs). He is Neurologist in the University Hospital of Limoges since 1991. He is head of the Neurology Department and “Pôle Neurosciences Tête Cou et Os” of CHU Limoges, chairman of the Groupe Français d’Etude des Maladies du Motoneurone GFEMM and the Scientific Board for the “Association pour la Recherche sur la SLA (ARSla), coordinator of the ALS Centre CHU Limoges and member EURALS (Consortium for the European Research on Epidemiology of ALS), the French Network on FTD/ALS, and the French Neurological Society (SFN).

    He is (co)investigator in several European Research Projects, such as Project MinE, TRICALS and SOPHIA, PULSE (PHRC; ‘Etude des facteurs prédictifs de l’évolutivité de la sclérose latérale amyotrophique’ Caractéristiques pronostiques et endophénotypiques. Mise en place d’une banque nationale de données’), and PREV-DEMALS (ANR; Predict to prevent frontotemporal lobar degeneration and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), in therapeutic clinical trials (Cytokinetics, NogoA, Respistim). He is coordinator of Sub-Head: epidemiology of ALS UMR 1094 University of Limoges, BMAALS (ANR; First study in France searching a link between Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and BMAA’s cyanotoxin) and NUTRALS (Impact d’une supplémentation alimentaire précoce par voie orale sur l’état fonctionnel des patients atteints de sclérose latérale amyotrophique).
