The ALS Centre Moscow & 'Live Now' Charity Foundation

The ALS Centre Moscow is a part of the European network for the cure of ALS (ENCALS).

ALS Centre Moscow is a big collaboration between multidisciplinary outpatient ALS team at St. Alexis Central Clinical Hospital, inpatient care at Bujanov Moscow Clinical Hospital which provides PEG placement, ventilation, inpatient palliative care and ALS research and Research center of neurology as main ALS diagnostic center in Russia.

Since 2011 this Centre provides all kinds of social and medical support for ALS patients at Moscow and different regions of Russia.  One-time we followed more than 100 ALS patients at home. In Russia we have unique opportunity to collect DNA and perform studies in a big cohort of ALS patients. We want to use this opportunity in order to discover genetic basis of ALS and help people with ALS.

“Live now” Charity Foundation was established in 2015 with the support of ALS patients, their families and those who help them. The foundation supports people all over Russia — in the ways that are available in a certain region. The Mission of the Foundation is to improve the lifes of patients with ALS and their families, by giving them access to the best possible aids and to promote studies that will lead to eradication of ALS. Genetic research will help us to find the causes of ALS. This is an important step towards treatments for this devastating disease.
