Good Run Ireland raises €9,150 for Project MinEGood Friday, March 25th2016 saw more than 800 walkers, joggers and runners descend on a sunny St. Anne’s Park on Dublin’s Northside in Ireland for the second annual Good Run in aid of motor neurone disease (MND/ ALS).

Event organisers are delighted to announce the family fun run has raised €18,300 as a result of participant and corporate sponsorship and entry fees. The funds have been divided equally between the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) and Project MinE (an international research program with a team in Trinity College Dublin, dedicated to discovering the genetic cause of Motor Neurone Disease to enable treatment to be developed).

Presenting cheques to Meave Leahy of IMNDA and Dr. Alice Vajda of Project MinE today, one of the event organizers Olivia Sexton said:

“We’re so delighted to present €9,150 to each of our beneficiaries. Both organisations are absolutely vital in terms of providing patient care, carer support and of course the crucial research which is ultimately aiming to find a treatment for MND/ ALS.”

The team and I hope to see it go from strength to strength and are already looking forward to 2017. Of course the success of the event is all thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers, participants, supporters and of course our generous sponsors. The buzz on the day was fantastic and we’re glad to be an official date in the family diary now!”
